ging nang boyz
Today the Ging Nang Boyz released a subtitled version of their Boys on the Run PV and you can finally understand the plight of being a distraught man in Japan. Maybe.
The video showcases a lot of crazy looking dudes and most of them are talking about their crappy lives. Sad. But the Ging Nang Boyz give us hope in this 12 minute video.
Check out the subtitled version of Boys on the Run below!

Discotheque has released a PV for their single “Loveless feat. Jay’ed ps. Happy Christmas” this week and they followed it up with a youtube video of the making of their video as well. So you can see the process of how they make a pretty girl look even more pretty! Seriously, the song “Loveless” is a very nice R&B song. Unfortunately, the only place I can find to order it is from itunes of japan. “Loveless” came out on 11/25/2009.
Read more about Discotheque at their myspace page or their official website.

You might have heard “Letter to…” on FACT’s myspace page. Well their video to this single off their new album Pentagon 3 is up on youtube.
What is awesome about it, is that it includes concert footage of their time in America. But more importantly, if you hadn’t heard, FACT was in a car wreck in Alabama that forced the band to go home to JAPAN for a while due to the severity of the injuries. You see the VAN in the video and it does looked messed up pretty good.
You also see the hospital and the newspaper article about their wreck. I’m glad everyone was ok and glad they could make a good video about it too.
Watch it while you can (thanks to shoedy1 for the upload):

Health is an experimental rock group from Los Angeles, California. I’ve heard the song Die Slow a couple times and it has grown on me. The music sounds like Stabbing Westard on loop, but with the vocals of the band AIR.
That’s cool right?
So I decided to hunt down the video and it is SICK. Sick as in cool and sick as in bloodbath shocking.
Learn more about HEALTH at the band’s website. Their album GET COLOR hit store shelves in September; buy it at Amazon. And if you want to hear more from the band, check out their myspace.
What are you waiting for. Watch this cool body orgy of dancing kids at a rave that turns into a rainbath of death. Watch the video now?

Unchain is a japanese quartet that has a new single Gravity hitting the music shelves on 10/14/2009. According to their myspace page, they call their brand of rock New School Rock. You know what? I can’t really compare it to other rock bands so it is kinda new school, and I like what I am hearing.
You can hear more tracks of the 3 song single at their myspace as well as view the video for “Gravity.” You can learn more about the band at their official website. Preorder the single “Gravity” at Amazon.
Currently the video is also up at youtube.com Watch it while you can:

Another PV has been released by the all girl group Scandal and this features more leggy rock as the girls rock out on an airstrip. It’s harmless fun.
Honestly at the end of the video, it turns quite hilarious. Who is the crazy pilot? I don’t know, but it adds a bit of humor to an otherwise simple band performance video.
You wanna hear and see more from Scandal? Check out their myspace page. The single “Yumemiru Tsubasa” comes out Oct 14th. Preorder it here. Watch the video while you can below:

There are only a few bands that truly capture hip-hop. The biggest was Tribe Called Quest. There is no debate.
So when Q-Tip formerly of Tribe releases a new CD, single, video… the world takes notice. Youtube is highlighting Q-Tip’s new video for Life is Better on new music Tuesday for this reason.
“Life is Better” is off of Q-Tip’s current album “The Renaissance” and is most noted for featuring singer Norah Jones. Learn more about Q-tip by visiting his myspace page. Check out his new video for “Life is Better” below:
Unicorn screenshot from NME interview
Unicorn was a BIG band in Japan in the 80′s and 90′s. They broke up but got back together this year to tour (image above is from an interview during their tour in August).
Most notable of the band was Okuda Tamio who had a great solo success and went on to produce for bands like Puffy Amiyumi. Read more about their bio at this awesome site. You can also catch up on them at their own website. And you can read their blog HERE.
Well their first single will be available this week on October 7th entitled Hanseiki Shounen. Preorder the CD at amazon.jp. You can check out one of the songs’ video below. Don’t know how long it will be up, so enjoy it while you can. It is techno rap goodness.

Ok you know its kinda cool to produce “Queen-y” like records. Muse is doing it, My Chemical Romance did it, and now to hear something very Queen-like coming from a J-rock band is actually quite AWESOME.
“SPACE OPERA” is a new single from the japanese rock group serial tv drama (a five piece band). This song is LOUD, BIG and CHEERFUL and most importantly FUN. Seriously, this song is awesome.
You can read more about serial tv drama on their myspace and check out their page on rx-records website. They have a second full length album entitled Space Opera dropping on October 21st and if the album is anything like the first single. This will be a must own CD.
Check out the first single Space Opera below.
This was a cute little video I watched today on the wondergirls youtube page as the wondergirls were in Cleveland on Sept 6th for one of the Indians baseball games. You see them prepare for the event and learning “Take me out to the ball game.” Watch at the 1:58 mark to hear them sing the actual song.
I clicked on it and you should too.
