Take a train ride to the stars with KONCOS and their seasonal sounding single “”旅するななつぼし.”
It’s a straight up piano song that has that elementary school Christmas carol sound, although it’s probably not Christmas-y. It’s just nice, kind of like a train ride.
Enjoy it from KONCOS and videotapemusic. Read more about this 7″ release at Sunny Club’s website.

This is one long taxi ride. Roll through a wave of emotions from happy to sad to indifference to lusty urges in Maeno Kenta’s “Ne, Taxi.”
It’s a piano tune which sounds like a Billy Joel song. The emphatic singing, the pauses, the piano pounds, it’s very reminiscent and cool.
“Ne, Taxi” is on Maeno Kenta’s album Happy Lunch out 12.11.2013 at Yesasia and CDJapan.

Is there any thing sadder than riding the bus? How bout a piano ballad single called “涙” sung by the emotionally driven LEO.
Clinch your fist in the air and shake it and try to hold back the tears. Just maybe you’ll realize the bus isn’t all that bad after all.
LEO’s album Letters is out on 11.20.2013. Score it at Yesasia or CDJapan.

Mikako Joho keeps things airy light pop with her single “Kimi ga Sukidatta.”
It’s an uplifting pop track with just enough percussion to give it some umph. The piano adds a femininity that matches Mikako Joho’s beauty. It’s a really good song.
You can learn more about Mikako Joho at her official website and her facebook page.
You can check out the Kimi ga Sukidatta single at Yesasia out 10.23.2013.
Play that funky piano Wakusei Abnormal! The female duo romp around town with lots of people dancing and living it up in this shnazzy single.
The piano is jazzy jumpy and lead singer アレックスたねこ is delightful. The keyboard player looks like Eazy-E with the black cap and shades. DIG IT! Call it modern synth jazz. At least that’s what I’m calling it. You can’t help loving this song!
Read up on Wakusei Abnormal at their official website.
This song can be found on the new album Anata Sonata out 10.23.2013 at CDJapan and Yesasia.
The piano thumps along while whispers whip through the trees. This haunting speeds up until you are completely chased into the “lost field.”
Films returns with one of their most terrifying singles yet, where the piano is truly exhilarating and exhausting. Try to run through the forest, you can’t escape the heart thumping in your chest.
Awesome song and spooky video to boot.
Find “lost field” on the A Forbidden Garden album released back on 4.20.2013. It’s at US iTunes for 8.99.

There is Aagna, then there is LGYankees producing Aagna which takes things to a whole ‘nother level. And then there is Aagna produced by LGYankees featuring Noa, for a ballad single “forever.”
It will make you climb a green hillside and sing. The piano is nice, but when Noa and Aagna finally team up, it’s heavenly.
LGYankees have produced a full album Love aagna and it’s coming on 9.4.2013. Preorder it from Yesasia or CDJapan.

Emiri Ota’s pixie-like face will probably remind you a lot of Bjork. Well after listening and watching the video for “月のレヴェル” you’ll probably think she’s just as crazy.
The song bursts with static guitars and mad piano banging and the video features Emiri Ota in a wedding dress playing a high-stakes game of tiles. And when you have a doppleganger underneath the table possibly helping you cheat, well there’s a good chance you’ll get busted.
This video is bizarre, but in a good way.
Emiri Ota’s album Renaissance will be released on 8.28.2013. Score it at Yesasia or CDJapan.

Rie Fu Sings The Carpenters is a tribute album coming out 9.4.2013. Rie Fu singing the Carpenters is truly a no brainer. Rie Fu has an amazing voice, she sings a tribute to a folk legend Karen Carpenter who also had an amazing voice.
Rie Fu mentions in her youtube description that Karen Carpenter taught her that the “VOICE” is what it’s all about. So the album contains a bunch of covers of the Carpenter classics, but as you can see, Rie Fu also wrote an original song called “Dear Karen.” It’s pretty and emotional. It’s also in English.
Rie Fu Sings The Carpenters contains the english and japanese version of this song on the album. Look for it at CDJapan or Yesasia.

Walk the streets aimlessly with Ryo Iwamoto (we are time) in another meandering piano single “Love Streams (Theme).”
This video includes more dancing, but it’s less obvious, and more twirling and flailing. Love the city! Hug the rails, lay on the steps, reach out to the skyline. Ryo Iwamoto’s new album Love is Overtaking Me is scheduled for 5.22.2013. Preup at Amazon.jp.
