Vampillia sucks your blood for a full 9 minutes in the goth metal symphonic wasteland single “Circle.”
It’s heavy chords and violins and growly sadness coming from a band that has over 10 members. It’s like an orchestra, but blacker than black doing Type O Negative shit. It’s awesome.
The video is chock full of goth imagery. Crosses, graves, bleak winter forest scenes.. these are a few of my favorite things! (not really.. but hey it’s October!)
You can buy this single just in time for Halloween on 10.16.2013 for $0.66 at this link HERE.
If you want to know more about this group from Osaka, JP check out their official website.
GACKT’s “Claymore” is a darkly visual stunning video. The imagery of the girl with the sword, nice close ups of GACKT, exploding black rock.. all of it is badass. And we get some amazing guitar solos and GACKT’s signature croony voice.
We see a lot of the video actually, over 3 minutes worth. Let’s hope we see the rest soon.
Anyway, GACKT is releasing the Best of the Best vol.1 in two editions, the MILD and the WILD on 7.3.2013. “Claymore” is on the WILD edition. Preup from CDJapan.
Get your Gackt on at Gackt’s official website.
When it’s cold outside, it’s best to stay inside and SCREW. That melting icicle symbolizes a dripping SCREW “Teardrop.”
Yeah, SCREW has this moody visual Kei rock on lock, and the somewhat depressingly lovely single “Teardrop” will make the goth girls go wild. I dig it too. Plus, there is snow.
Collect your Teardrops at Yesasia or CDJapan released 2.6.2013.
SCREW’s official website is dark.
Castlevania organs and lighted candles! Oh goodie! It’s the return of goth! Check out the trio of Magistina Saga donned in black for the single “After Artifice.”
The song mixes Iori’s elegant vocals over crunchy guitars but maintains that Vampiric Transylvanian quailty with the use of spooky organs and synthisized strings. In fact, the organs make this track stand out, and yet I don’t think any of the three members play the synthesizer. Weird.
Obviously you can do anything in production, like import a drummer and piano player since Magistina Saga consists of just the singer, guitarist and bassist.
Still, this song is gothy enough that you should check out The Tone of Temptation released on 11.21.2012. Score it at Yesasia.
Your Magistina is waiting.
Hey it’s a bunch of electronica Goth meatheads! Get your clap on to Foxpill Cult’s latest PV for “Meat Dispatch.” The Melodica kind of sounds like bagpipes, so “Meat Dispatch” kind of sounds like some weird dancey death march. Awesome
Hit up Foxpill Cult’s official website where you can find out more on New Romancer released back on 2.22.2012!
Liv Moon is back mixing Metal with the Macabre in her single “Amen!” Feverish guitar licks and elegant vocal stylings that turn dark seems to be Liv Moon’s trade mark, and this song continues banging away at heads.
Find the single on her new album Symphonic Moon out 1.18.2011 from Yesasia or CDJapan.
Look up to the heavens for her official website. Also check out her blog.
Bwapwha-wanna. Bwapwha-wanna-wanna-wop-wopa-wanna. Oh Elizabeth! I’m coming for you ‘Lizabeth! Yeah. This isn’t Sanford and Sons.
This is the black leather clad visual kei grumpers BLOOD and their latest PV for “Elizabeth.” I really wish it was an ode to one of the classic sitcoms on tv, instead.
So, hit up Yesasia you sexually confused teenagers! Elizabeth dropped back in October.
See red at BlOOD’s official website.
Get a taste for BLOOD. Then feast your eyes on this visual kei’s marilyn manson-like charms. I guess this group has gone through some band member changes, so they state this is their first maxi single since being “reborn.”
I dig the dark metal and even the creepy synth.. I’m not exactly sold when it slows down and some of the outfits just seem so played out. Yet what do I know about fresh goth clothes? Anyhoo, the drummer Dora has some KILLER red drumsticks. Badass.
Dive into Bathory when it hits CDJapan today 6.15.2011.

Homosapiens are killing it in their very short single “極東ゲットー.” Or maybe they just killed themselves, these guys look kind of dead.
I don’t know if they are going the goth route or just like dead make-up, but they are loud and are rocking my socks off. You should be able to see my toe-tag! I’m on board, stiff as a board, ready to join the dead.
There is nothing fancy about “極東ゲットー” it’s just a fast rock track. LOVE IT. I want to hear more! Check out Homosapiens new album Dead Girlfriend out 6.8.2011 from Yesasia or CDJapan.
Homosapiens have an official website too.
MergingMoon is following me on twitter. So of course I’ll check out their creepy website and stuff.
A very surprising kind of neat dark metalcore band with hints of electronica hidden within the piggy squeals and screams in their single “Blackout Before Shadow.” This should be on MergingMoon’s new album Inauguration of the Black Sun scheduled sometime in May.
From MergingMoon’s blog, it sounds like the album will be 7 tracks, and from the video above sounds pretty darn good.
Pull out your telescope to read more at MergingMoon’s myspace and official website.
