In-sist return to bring the hip hop and the funk and the jams in their 5th album HIPSTORY released 9.25.2013.
If you were undecided about buying the album, well now you can hear every song on the album as well as see clips from what looks like videos for every song as well. These dudes are cooler than school and know how to rock it out and rap it out.
You can buy HIPSTORY at CDJapan. Visit the band’s website and see some cool characatures of the band members.
A-B-C-D-Eo. Keiichi Sokabe rolls through a disco beat in the clever video for “汚染水.” Plus, we get zombies.
There is even a little Bob Dylan homage going on in this video. So clap your hands everybody, everybody clap your hands.
This single is dropping on 12/3/2013 which you can read about HERE. You might be able to buy it through ROSE Records. Yet this link shows it’s sold out??
GLIM SPANKY is blues rock with a side of funk crafted to perfection under two shining stars: the fabulous and sexy lead singer Matsuo Remi and the guitarist Kamemoto Kiroki.
Together this duo will set blues rock on fire. Their single “ダミーロックとブルース” is one stiff drink and an 8 ball in the corner pocket bar jukebox blast. You feel it from the beginning. B-b-b-b-b-b-badass.
If you are a music freak, you’ll freak for GLIM SPANKY’s album.. also called Music Freak out 12.4.2013 at CDJapan and Yesasia.

I’ll be back! I might be lurking at the edge of the woods of the local park acting creepy, but “I Will Be Back.” And that’s an appropriate description of Funk-K and his new single.
Homeboy has a killer flow and buddy Deech lays on this smooth chorus, but they both kind of look like homers. Like Gomer Pyles. Like Forrest Gumps. But whatevs, these guys are cool in my book.
“I Will Be Back” is indeed a funky track, which is what you would expect from a guy named Funk-K.
Look for this single on iTunes.JP on 6.19.2013. And see who is all smiles at Funk-K’s official blog. Follow Funk-K on twitter.
Call them astronauts because they sho get ass a lot. Check out Somdef’s extraterrestrial funk exploration in “Circus” featuring Jinbo & Taehun.
Yes there are titties is space, as well as demon goat MCs. Still as far out as that sounds, it’s the smooth Funk sounds that are most exciting.
The organ keyboard frapps out notes while bottles clank and the drumkit lulls you into a haze. “Circus” is a trip we all want to take.
Somdef’s self-titled EP lands on 6.17.2013. Score it at Yesasia.
Somdef is friggin’ dope! Check out the official website.
Dive into Muff’s “Black Moon” and you’ll swim in the funky jams for over 9 minutes.
Yes, Muff is a jam band.. that means long sessions of bongos and funky guitars, but that’s all good if you’re stoned. You are stoned, right? If not, maybe take up the hoola-hoop and you can trance out to it’s neon glow. That’s what this one girl is doing in the video. Trippy!
Muff’s new album TOTAL EXPERIENCE was released on 10.10.2012. Soak it in at Yesasia.
Do enough shrooms and you’ll get a kick out of Muff’s official website.
Red and Blue, Green & White are funky colors for an extremely funky track by JiLL DecoyAssociation. You get your horns full and shake your booty jams, even a a rap breakdown. And of course the lead singer’s sultry voice. “Red & Blue, Green & White” is pretty damn tight.
Experience a Decade with JiLL Decoy Association. Their album was released 10.10.2012. Get some at Yesasia or CDJapan.

Buggy Lamp creates a fuzzy pop sound that combines jazz, orchestral ballad and hazy drugged funk in “”ダスティミラー .” The results are light and dreamy while still maintaining an underlying rock funk. The group look like they came right out of that smelly old thrift store too. Baggy pants, weird hats, and hippie love.
Turn that light on and look for Buggy Lamp’s Antique Pop released in April of 2012 at Yesasia.

What is that sensation? It’s your ears smiling.
Listen to the electric sounds coming out of the guitars in this instrumental phenomenal band Sensation. It’s a mix of rock, jam session, jazz and thick funk. Each shift is notable, but it all comes together so nicely in their single of the same name that you’ve got to love it. The camera work focusing on the finger magic is quite nice too.
Sensation’s first album Sensation I is slated for 7.25.2012. Preup at CDJapan.
Cool sensations continue over at their official website.
