Wubba wubba wubba.. it’s 90′s club music up in this piece! Coasaru goes retro dance music with the guilty pleasure single “Breakers feat. Momose.”
This really sounds like the one hit wonders Real McCoy (Another Night) meets Ya Kid K of Technotronic sung/rapped by a nasally dude Coasaru. So of course I like it!
Coasaru actually has a full album entitled Henshin out 5.15.2013 at Yesasia and CDJapan. You should break open some glow sticks and check it out.
Coasaru/Paranel has a twitter account. Follow him.
Trf are going to make you sweat with their pre-workout dance song “Because of U.” The song is actually a lighter song with tinkles and softer vocals, but the beats are still speedy enough to make me get tired just watching these fools dance.
Trf really epitomize early 90′s dance music.. and I honestly love it. Probably because I’m too old to ever set foot in a club ever again.
Watch the Music is coming out on 2.25.2013.. Hit up Yesasia or CDJapan.
Frt your way over to Trf’s official website.
Zen-La-Rock is overly fascinated with 80′s hip hop and new jack swing. They actually go as far and recreate famous videos from the era in their video “NEW JACK UR BODY.” These are videos I grew up on by artists Boys II Men, ABC, Bobby Brown, MC Hammer, Bel Biv Devoe and more. It’s nostalgic, kind of fun, slightly humorous, and possibly slightly offensive? probably not (I believe the intent is more about homage and love.) These guys really do love this music and these artists. Oh Japan.
Zen-La-Rock’s Winter Gift is a new single out 12.14.2011. Score it at Yesasia or CDJapan.

Wow. These dudes from Brandnew Sun 88 have this techno, Depeche Mode thing going on in the single “ハイイロのソラ.” It’s like a mix of 80′s pop with 90′s techno. Some of the lyrics also remind me of Wham! for some reason.
This single is out 12.7.2011 and CDJapan and Yesasia have it!
Check Brandnew Sun 88′s myspace to listen to some more of their songs.
The folks at RIZE’s youtube page threw up a live performance video of RIZE covering Nirvana’a “Heart shaped box.” I would say that it’s a pretty faithful cover song. Pretty fucking good actually.
RIZE up over at their official website for more.
I have to admit.. even I like songs with wack lyrics. “Let’s Party” is the epitome of generic rhymes like but with great production. Give it up to Cherry Brown to take something that sounds like early 90′s C&C Music Factory and make it sound good. You can try to resist getting your ass on the dance floor… but those ladies are waiting.
Have a good time and dance fool.

Highered-girl makes me wish every morning could be a Bloody Saturday Morning. It’s one thing to compare a band to Nirvana or the Pixies, but the rawness of highered-girl screetches of In Utero Nirvana. This is 90′s alt-rock at its best.
I guess this song is on a second demo the band released ??? when? I don’t know. I do know that their 3rd demo album came out earlier this year. I say SOMEBODY SIGN this group up and release all the tracks on a new album.

Are you ready for the Full “Girls and Boys” Blur cover song by AMWE?
This is 80′s new wave, full on synth pop. The original Blur song was already a throw back when it was released in the 90′s. Now in 2010, AMWE has made the track a full out dance single.
The new album GIRLS is out 9.29.2010 and you can preorder from Yesasia.com or cdjapan.co.jp.
The PV looks like my trapper keeper from 1982 came to life. Dancing squiggles, triangle shaped graphics and geometric mayhem.
AMWE’s myspace page has some more info for you, and say hello to her on twitter! Now get your 80′s boogie on and start jammin’ on the one below:
Must be snippet Tuesday.. as For life Music has put up the short clip of The Light (which they are calling a 90′s hip hop remix) featuring KJ from Dragon Ash, Naotaro Moriyama, and PES from RIP SLYME.
Lots of horns and pianos, but the song is nice. Miss Monday’s new album Beautiful is out 6-23-2010 and you should check it out. Preorder from yesasia.com now.
For more info, check out Miss Monday’s official website.

After hearing all of Emily Lettuce’s single “Color Voice”, I gotta say I feel a Supergrass kinda of vibe from the band. This is some eerily good “britpop” sounding j-rock.
The first PV for Color Voice is really just a performance video, with the lead vocalist singing in the back of a van, but the song will have you coming back for more. Get it at Amazon of japan.
I’ve posted before about Emily Lettuce but this is an update on their first self-titled single which came out on 2/20/2010. All three tracks can currently be heard on their official myspace page. You can also read about these young guys on their official website.
