Bathe your toes in the window sunight with Rina Katahira. She can rock out on either an electric or acoustic guitar and still come off as sincere and cute. “On’na no ko wa nakanai” show that girls don’t cry. They just write songs about their problems and will probably be paid handsomely for it.
She might look at mess with her stringy just woke up hair and her football jersey over dress outfit. Yet she sings like Tomoko Kawase and can strum a guitar like the best of these girl singer songwriters.
Her single “On’na no ko wa nakanai” is dropping 1/15/2014 at Yesasia and CDJapan.

Prepare to lube up. Trip Men are thrashing about in their amazing New Jack Swing meets punk rock combo “Jack Boozer.”
Mashing up styles can be fun, sometimes it can be a disaster. TRIP MEN skirt the issue by making high energy rap over sped up new jack swing horns and beats and throwing in some electric guitar to balance things out. Surprise! It works.
The director of this crazy video is Kussy Pussy. Hooray!
TRIP MEN is rolling your way with their album I’ll Be Back slated for a 12.18.2013 release. Score it at Yesasia or CDJapan.

By the power of autotune KOWICHI is able to find a flower in the desert. He also enlists MoNa to add some spice to his hip hop single “FLOWER.”
The song is actually a great show piece of KOWICHI’s flow and R&B mix to his rap track. Filming is the desert was also a wise choice, the video is gorgeous.
You can actually buy this single separate at Amazon.jp. It’s also on Confidential Cheese and Kowichi’s new EP Cake Up as a remix out 12.11.2013.

FEBB & GORE-TEX flow over bluesy piano loops in the overly cool “COOL GEE.” The two together are sick.
They each have their own verses, but come together at the end of the song as the music fades out and the duo are rapping on stage killing it.

The charming robot dancing salarymen are back for one “Last Dance.”
Their choreography is mesmerizing as always, but the single “Last Dance” has some soothing techno charm as well. It’s like the second coming of Brit band New Order. LOVE IT.

SiM’s third full album PANDORA is like opening a box of assorted demons. You get SiM’s mix of signature punk/reggae/hard rock/dubstep songs, and sometimes it’s hard to decide which ones you like best or which one darkens your heart more.
The guys are multi-talented as they continue to seemlessly flow from genre to musical genre, as best well documented in their single “Who’s Next?” And most appropriately in that song there is the bitch scream “Because you’re dead already” that sums up SiM’s darker lyrics on the album.
The band’s has other hit singles like “Blah, Blah, Blah” and the amazing melodica slower croony single “Rosso & Dry” that make this an album worth buying.
There are a few other gems too. “Boring People, Fucking Grays” drags you through the muck with its sludgey guitars. “We’re All Alone” is an subltle autotunish hard rock track with an unexpected charm. The autotuned singing and deathly howls by Mah flows well together.
Some of the songs don’t reach impact level, but overall Pandora is a go-to hybrid rock album that you can pop in and listen to from start to finish and find something new in a track everytime you listen to it. It’s a grower, but more satisfying after repeat listens. The reggae bits and beats hit harder the deeper you dig into Pandora.
Initial listen I would have given it a 7, but after blasting it for 2 weeks, it’s a very solid 8 out of 10. You can buy it yourself from CDJapan.
It’s also now on iTunes.JP (still not available on US iTunes.)

Take a train ride to the stars with KONCOS and their seasonal sounding single “”旅するななつぼし.”
It’s a straight up piano song that has that elementary school Christmas carol sound, although it’s probably not Christmas-y. It’s just nice, kind of like a train ride.
Enjoy it from KONCOS and videotapemusic. Read more about this 7″ release at Sunny Club’s website.

Peruse the hip hop aisle with Anarchy in his smooth as silk single “LOYALTY.” Anarchy drops another sick single off of his DGKA album which is full of scratches and what sounds like a Jay-Z vocal sample.
