Erina Mano- “Song for the DATE” MV

I don’t know what I was expecting from this Mano Erina song “Song for the DATE,” but cybertronic techno dance pop was the furthest thought from my mind.

The video is also bizarre and bleak. We get a wasteland construction zone with her posters plastered all over this landscape. She runs around taking down the posters, burns them in a fire and sings on the beach as ashes wisp around her face.  Awesome?

So yeah, it’s not your typical happy JPOP video and I commend that. The song might sound like 90′s anime theme music, but I kind of dig that too. So look out for the Song for the Date single out 6.27.2012 at Yesasia or CDJapan.
