AMWE is so new wave, and she has covered BLUR’s classic “Girls and Boys.” What??!! You know what? It’s actually pretty good. Cover songs are tricky because either you want to sound eerily like the original or do something completely different. AMWE has gone out on a ledge and synth’d the hell out of their version and I think it works.
The new album GIRLS is out 9.29.2010 and you can preorder from Yesasia.com or cdjapan.co.jp. Another track on the album is “Groove is in the Heart” and I’m suspecting it’s another cover from Dee-lite. Guess we gotta wait and see.
