yeah If I had the cash I’d buy this jazz version over the punk one..
The punk version sounds… meh. I’ve always been into jazz, so when I was randomly browsing the jazz section at Tsutaya and saw this it was an instant buy. I had to put off my purchase of Lupin:The Last Job disc (which has Ego-Wrappin’s Yoshie Nakano covering one of the songs) to buy it, but I think it’s worth it. Nausicaa and Laputa’s themes are so expansive and solemn that it’s kind of strange to hear them as bobby jazz lounge numbers at first, but somehow it works really well.
And Country Roads as a jazz number is pretty funny.
